V-ASIST

Terms and Conditions

Last updated 15 October 2026

V-Asist is made and sold by Boris Ostaev, an individual based in Georgia (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, buying or using V-Asist you agree to these terms. Questions: support@vasist.app.

1. Who you are buying from

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payments, invoices, sales tax and VAT are handled by Paddle under the Paddle Buyer Terms, which apply to your purchase alongside these terms.

2. The software

V-Asist is video assist software for macOS: it captures, records, monitors and plays back video from cameras connected through capture hardware. The website and the in-app feature guide describe what it does and what it needs (Mac, macOS version, capture hardware and drivers).

3. Free trial

Every Mac can use V-Asist free for 7 days from its first launch, with every feature. After the trial, a license key is needed to keep using it. Please use the trial to confirm V-Asist works with your Mac, capture hardware and camera before you buy.

4. Your license

5. Fair use

You may not use V-Asist or vasist.app:

6. Your footage and content

Everything you record, import, export or create with V-Asist (video, audio, stills, overlays, shot logs, projects) stays yours, and it stays on your own Mac and drives — V-Asist doesn't upload it anywhere. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions to capture, use and share that material, and for how you use it.

If you believe material connected to V-Asist or vasist.app infringes your rights, write to support@vasist.app with the details and we will look into it promptly and remove infringing material we control. We may revoke licenses of users who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

7. Intellectual property

V-Asist, its code, design, name, logo, website and documentation belong to Boris Ostaev and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you no rights to them beyond the license above. Third-party components and trademarks (for example AJA, Blackmagic Design, ARRI, Apple) belong to their owners; V-Asist is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

8. No guarantee — keep a backup

V-Asist is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable on set, but we can't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will work with every Mac, capture device, driver or camera. While V-Asist is in beta especially, we recommend keeping another way of recording as a backup on important shoots.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost recordings, lost production time, lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to V-Asist is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Suspension and termination

We may revoke a license or refuse service if you materially breach these terms, if a payment is reversed, charged back or not received, if there is a security or fraud risk, or after repeated violations. You can stop using V-Asist at any time. Sections 6–9 and 12 remain in effect after termination.

11. Refunds

You can get a refund within 14 days of purchase — see the refund policy.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and changes don't take away rights you already have for a license you bought. These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
